Library Development Strategies in Accelerating Information Technology in the Digital Age

Abstract

Libraries do not escape the reach of accelerating information technology. In accordance with Law 43 of 2007 concerning Libraries Article 14 Paragraph 3 which requires libraries to keep up with technological developments. Currently, the library has been transformed into digital. A digital library is a library that utilizes information technology in its management. This article aims to find out the digital library in the acceleration of information technology, as well as the development strategy of a digital library and its influence on society. This article uses a literature study method that reviews and analyzes previous research sourced from journal articles or books. It can be seen that the strategy for developing a digital library service system in this era includes (a) selection of devices -software and hardware- to be used, (b) good interface design, (c) services presented to users, (d) information security, (e) training and counseling on digital library literacy, and (f) promotion through social media.
