Analysis of Islamic Law of Wife Who Provide Support to Parents

Abstract

This research aims to find out the law of a wife who supports her parents without her husband's knowledge and with her husband's knowledge but her husband is not happy. The formulation of the problem in this research is what is the practice of wives providing support for their parents in Bandar Sakti village, Canal Nunyai District, Central Lampung Regency? and what is the analysis of Islamic law regarding wives who provide support for their parents? This research aims to find out how wives practice providing support for their parents in Bandar Sakti village, Canal Nunyai District, Central Lampung Regency. And to find out the analysis of Islamic law regarding wives who provide support for their parents. This research includes field research. To obtain the data presented in this research the author used primary and secondary data. The data collection methods used were observation methods, interview methods, and documentation methods, while for data analysis the author used qualitative analysis. The results of this research show that the practice of wives providing support for their parents in Bandar Sakti village, Laluan Nunyai District, Central Lampung Regency is carried out for various reasons, namely: they do it as a form of devotion to their parents, their parent's economic situation is lacking, their parents are in poor condition. underprivileged and parents who are poor, weak, and unable to work. Then the practice of wives providing support for parents in Bandar Sakti Village is carried out with the husband's knowledge and without the husband's knowledge. Analysis of Islamic law regarding wives who provide support for their parents in Bandar Sakti Village, Kanan Nunyai District, Central Lampung Regency is related to the establishment of mandatory laws regarding child support for parents by Islamic school scholars, namely the Hanafi, Maliki, Syafi'i and Hanbali schools referring to the arguments contained in the two main sources of law, namely the Al-Qur'an and the Sunnah. Then, if the husband does not know or is not pleased, the gift made by the wife to her parents is not permissible or haram. So, according to the analysis of Islamic law, this is not appropriate if the wife provides support to her parents without her husband's knowledge or approval.
