Abstract

This research explores climate change in Indonesia due to the greenhouse effect, which impacts the current global warming. The aim of this study is to understand the extent of the role of Islamic figures in Indonesia in addressing the effects of climate change in the current era of globalization. The theory used by the researcher as a reference is Ibn Khaldun's theory regarding the impact of climate, employing a descriptive analytical qualitative method with a desk study approach. The findings indicate that the role of Islamic figures in addressing climate change is through implementing environmental program strategies issued by the MUI Fatwa, organizing seminars on the impacts of current climate change, providing studies in mosques with the theme of tackling climate change in the present era, and offering courses on climate change development to students. At the end of the designed solution, there needs to be government efforts in providing regulations about the dangers of climate change.
