Abstract

Sidodadi Village with its ethnic diversity and the socio-economic background of its residents is an interesting microcosm to study the dynamics of reinterpretation of Islamic teachings in the context of inclusive development. On the one hand, this plurality offers great potential for collaboration and innovation in development. On the other hand, such diversity can also be a source of conflict and obstacles if not managed properly. In this context, the reinterpretation of Islamic teachings becomes crucial as a bridge between traditional values and the demands of modernity, as well as an ethical basis for inclusive development. The main focus of the research is to identify opportunities and obstacles in the effort to integrate Islamic values with the concept of inclusive development in a plural society. Through a qualitative approach with a case study method, this research reveals that the reinterpretation of Islamic teachings opens opportunities for the creation of social harmony and equitable development. However, challenges such as differences in religious understanding and resistance to change are still significant obstacles. The results of this study are expected to contribute to the development of inclusive development strategies based on religious values in plural societies and contribute to a broader discourse on the role of religion in development and social transformation in the contemporary era.
