Muhasabah with the Therapeutic Method of Mind Healing Technique as an Effort to Motivate Students to Study at Ma'had Al-Jami'ah UIN Raden Intan Lampung

Abstract

This research is based on the low motivation of learning Mahasantri in Ma'had al-Jami'ah UIN Raden Intan Lampung, which is marked by lazy behavior, lack of motivation, low interest in learning, and the absence of clear learning goals. This study aims to determine the effect of the application of Muhasabah with the Mind Healing Technique (MHT) therapy method in increasing students learning motivation. Muhasabah is a process of introspection and self-reflection to improve behavior and increase spirituality, while MHT emphasizes the use of positive thoughts and sentences. The combination of these two methods is expected to help mahasantri identify strengths and weaknesses, plan self-improvement strategies, and understand academic goals better. This study used a quantitative approach with a pre-experiment method and a one group pretest-posttest design. The sample consisted of 20 mahasantri who were selected by purposive sampling. Data were collected through questionnaires and interviews, then analyzed using paired samples t-test with a significance level of 0.001. The results showed an increase in learning motivation of 66.97%, with the average value of the pretest questionnaire increasing from 57.55 to 96.10 in the posttest. The paired t-test shows the significance value of the pretest and posttest is less than 0.05 (p < 0.001), so the null hypothesis is rejected. It can be concluded that the application of Muhasabah with the Mind Healing Technique (MHT) therapy method significantly increases students' learning motivation, interest, and clarity of academic goals.
